This new initiative will kick off with a pancake breakfast cook-off between Student Advocate Rich DeMartino and Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education Mike Piccirillo, followed by a keynote address by motivational speaker and Board of Education trustee Jay Rifenbary. Participants will then be choose from workshops on the following topics:

Incorporating Balance Into Your Life
Juvenile Health & Wellness
The Winding Path of Adolescent Child Development
Smartboards 101
New Ways of Understanding ADHD
An Early Childhood Development Panel
Career Planning for the 21st Century
Financial Literacy for Kids of All Ages

Parent University is a new collaboration between the Partnership and the Saratoga Springs City School District. It is designed to help parents and families actively participate in their students' education by offering ongoing workshops on topics related to parenting, health and wellness, personal growth and development, and technology in the classroom.

Courses will be offered throughout the year on weekdays and weekends at various times in venues throughout the community. Local professionals, district staff, parents and students will serve as teachers.
