October 9, 2018 Inaugural GSA Silicon Summit – East Attracts Leading Semiconductor Executives and Technologists to Saratoga Springs
Saratoga Springs, NY – More than 150 leading semiconductor executives and technologists converged on Saratoga Springs, NY today for the inaugural GSA Silicon Summit – East, a global industry conference aimed at extending semiconductor technology and business, highlighting developing market trends, and enabling opportunities for regional collaboration and growth.
With a theme of “Harnessing Emerging Semiconductor Market Opportunities,” the first GSA Silicon Summit – East was hosted by theSaratoga County Prosperity Partnership (Saratoga Partnership), Saratoga County, NY’s economic development agency; theGlobal Semiconductor Alliance (GSA), an anchoring organization and leading voice for the worldwide semiconductor industry; and the Center for Economic Growth (CEG), a regional economic and business development organization.
GSA Silicon Summit – East was developed througha strategic alliance established by the Saratoga Partnership and GSA. The event featured keynote addresses from two industry technology and market thought leaders: Dr. Gary Patton, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Worldwide Research and Development at GLOBALFOUNDRIES, and Mark Lipacis, Managing Director of Jefferies Group LLC and a top analyst in identifying semiconductor trends and opportunities. In addition, technology executives from IBM, Samsung, Micron, Rambus, Synaptics, and DARPA, among many leading companies and organizations, immersed attendees in insightful presentations and panel discusssions at the conference.
