The Saratoga County Prosperity Partnership was recently awarded Rural Development Funds from USDA in an effort to stimulate small business growth throughout Saratoga County. Funds will be used to support a series of workshops called “Get Your Books in Order.” Saratoga County-based small business owners will be provided with a PC Desktop QuickBooks software license and receive 15-hours of training led by certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor Marcia Kidney of Pro Accounting Solutions. The skills learned by these small businesses will enhance their internal reporting capabilities, improve operational efficiencies, and encourage small business growth in Saratoga County.
“Small businesses are the engines of job creation in the United States and stimulate vibrant communities and downtowns throughout Saratoga County,” said Saratoga County Prosperity Partnership President Marty Vanags. “We are fortunate to have resources like the USDA Rural Development Funds to provide small businesses the tools and resources they need to be successful.”
What Saratoga County small business owners are saying!
“I want to recommend the QuickBooks 15-hour course offered by the Saratoga County Prosperity Partnership. I own and operate a small law firm here in Saratoga Springs, and although my assistant previously had a working knowledge of using QuickBooks for basic bookkeeping and check writing, no one else at my firm had any knowledge of QuickBooks whatsoever. By taking this class I learned not only how to use QuickBooks for basic bookkeeping but also how to keep track of billable time, to generate invoices for clients and other features. This will enable me to stop using a separate billing program and to use and maintain just the QuickBooks program, instead of maintaining both programs. The class came with a download of the QuickBooks program, which I downloaded to a laptop; now that laptop has been integrated into a networked multi-user version at the office.” David Harper, Esq. Law Firm, Saratoga Springs
“I just wanted to take a moment so share my appreciation to you, and the Saratoga County Prosperity Partnership, for providing the resources to hold the QuickBooks training with Marcia Kidney in January. As you know, finance is the language of business. Without a strong foundation in utilizing our bookkeeping and accounting tools, its impossible to truly understand the direction and opportunities available in our business. After completing this 15 hour course, I feel much more confident in organizing and tracking our operations, managing finances and taxes, and streamlining our transactional processes. Having access to this impactful training will truly add long term value for me and Kru Coffee and look forward taking advantage of future programs.” Kyle Brock, KRU Coffee, Saratoga Springs
